It took me a while using the strongest cleansers and lot of pressure I dared to use without damaging shinny gloss white finish. These lines are light and I think no one would notice these imperfections unless they were closely inspecting this lid. This happens when a piece of metal is rubbed with pressure along porcelain, have seen it plenty times. Other than that, this lid is excellent, no chips or scratches.
